Works great, especially with olive oil, but there are a couple of tricks to getting the most out of it. Second, if you twist the top after each use to release the pressure you can avoid clogging problems. Nice even spray with no clogging. Great gadget. Gives a light, uniform coating of oil to the veggies. Other things I use it for include oiling pans, my grill, and for misting the top of an italian pie or calzone with olive oil before baking for a nice golden color. We have one, and are ordering a second, so that we can have one for olive oil and another for a lighter vegetable oil.
About the only complaint I have is that if you pump it up too much, the oil mists too well! You'll get a light coating of oil on whatever you're spraying, but there will also be this cloud of tiny oil droplets hanging in the air. So Misto is #1 in service for me and my Misto sprayer is happily spraying away again.
Nice little product to have especially if you use a lot of oils.
If you pump it up less than about 20 times, you'll get a stream, not a mist. Pump it up more. This works perfect and helps me to control the amount of oil used on roasted veggies. A great replacement for your non-stick spray. Just fill half way with your choice of olive oil pump a few times and you are good to go. Love it!
Misto Olive Oil Sprayer Review
I followed the instructions that came with this mister to clean it and fill it with oil. You have to pump it several times before you mist oil with it. I don't have a lot of hand strength, but this Misto Gourmet Olive Oil Sprayer is very easy to pump up and to use.
I use this Misto Gourmet Olive Oil Sprayer to mist a light coating of oil directly onto my food, or onto my pan or griddle, grill, or waffle plates. Using olive oil on my pans or grill plates does not leave a film on them like it has in the past when I've used cooking sprays.
The only regret I have about purchasing the Misto Gourmet Olive Oil Sprayer is that I didn't purchase it sooner.
It works great! Pump it about 10 times, and spray, worked like a charm. Usually that mist goes away before I can even spray a pan, and I am left with a little stream of oil instead. I use it for the olive oil but you can use other liquids. I've tried the spray bottles but they only squirt globs of oil and not always where you aim. Every time I used a spray olive oil, I felt horribly guilty. Seriously, when you can smell something chemical in the air when you are spraying olive oil, something isn't right.
I finally bought a Misto. It works just great. I will continue to look for another oil sprayer.
Super product that works exactly as advertised. Saves you a ton on olive oil, and works better than any other method of application. I got a big spray, though. Reading review here it looks like I need to pump it more.
The Misto Gourmet sprayer works fine. I am using canola oil in it to spray on my barbeque grills before cooking on them.
